Anyone who is 55 years of age or older and lives in and is interested in volunteering in Monroe County is welcome to join RSVP. There are no membership fees or income restrictions.

No person may be excluded from membership or participation in the activities or benefits of RSVP, following federal and AmeriCorps requirements, on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender/gender identity or expression/sex, age, religion, sexual orientation, political affiliation, marital or parental status, genetic information, military service, pregnancy, nor on the basis of disability (including hearing or visual impairments), if the volunteer is a qualified individual with a disability, reprisal, nor if a complaint has been submitted. Volunteer Agencies will not harass, nor discriminate, against RSVP volunteers or in the operation of its program, following these same protections.

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) in partnership with our sponsor, The Monroe Center for Healthy Aging are committed to the inclusion of employees and volunteers/members with all levels of ability, following federal and AmeriCorps requirements. The accommodation process consists mainly of open dialogue, flexibility, and creativity on all parts. Members are expected to take an active role in this process. RSVP staff reserve the right to request documentation of the need for accommodation from a treating physician. To date, there have been no discrimination or harassment complaints made against Monroe County RSVP, our sponsor (the Monroe Center for Healthy Aging), nor any of our partner stations involving volunteers or the RSVP program.
